A catheter is inserted into the femoral artery and guided to the heart. The catheter is then opened, and a valve is attached to the aortic valve. The valve is then closed, and the catheter is removed.

The echocardiogram will show the aortic valve opening and the surrounding area.

Eligibility for SAVR and TAVR

Who Can Undergo SAVR and TAVR? Those who are not eligible for SAVR are able to undergo the TAVR procedure. If you are 65 and older or have medical conditions that disqualify you are considered for the procedure.
